2019 Carignane (750ml)
Mendocino County
The Trimble Vineyard, just east of Hopland, CA was planted in 1941, or 1942, depending on which member of the Trimble family you ask. The old sprawl plantings of head pruned vines are certified organic through CCOF and entirely dry farmed on well drained, loamy soils. The Mediterranean climate, provides warm days and cool nights, culminating in a later harvest that comes in just ahead of the fall frost. "Hot days and cold nights produce rich, potent Carignane loaded with personality. Inky dark fruit, cloves, licorice, spice and lavender are amplified in a decidedly rich, structured wine with big tannins and tons of personality. " -Antonio Galloni
